Because of the coronavirus the State has authorized us to present our class on line.  All parks registered will be mailed the textbook, now 119 pages, and have the opportunity to take the class, live, through your computer or iPad by an emailed link to Zoom.com.  Our four classes in the Spring were all a success, with more than 160 managers and owners completing the class.  All could see and hear our instructor and see a synopsis of our textbook made into a PowerPoint presentation.  Managers and owners can ask questions and get answers.

Here are some of the emailed comments:

"Hi Mike, Both Tom and I enjoyed your class today.  Much preferred online to being in a room where people talk among themselves and you cann't hear the instructor.  You did a great job and kept our interest throughout.  Thank you, Linda Trickel and Tom Redfern

GREAT job, Mike!  You were awesome, as usual!

Loved the online class and that's what I needed.

You always explain things so well!

Ellen Templar

Hi Mike, Great Job! Damah Stearns

Thank you so much!  It was a great experience!

Lisa Mattox"

And one verbal comment among many: "This was great.  Didn't have to travel and I can smoke!"

Oregon Park Managers Association
Providing quality instruction to manufactured community owners and managers.
Why take our class?

Since  March of 2006, OPMA has presented 142 classes in 11 Oregon cities.  We have certified the Oregon continuing education requirement for over 3,300 owners and managers.

1.

We have the only instructor, Mike Whitty, who is an attorney, inactive in the Oregon State Bar, lives in a park, and also has been a hands-on park manager and regional manager.  He deals with the same problems that confront your park.

2      We provide a newly revised textbook for use in the class.  It contains all of the Oregon statutes that you need to operate your park according to the law.    Experienced managers have commented on their appreciation for this useful guide.

We are approved by the Oregon Real Estate Agency to provide continuing education credit to Real Estate Brokers and Property Managers.

3      Our classes are small, presented in a seminar style, so that your questions are answered. You also learn from the answers to questions asked by other park owners and managers.

4.     At no additional cost, we provid continuing advice on questions that arise in your park.  Mike responds to several calls and emails every week in fulfilling this service.  Our textbook includes many actual circumstances where Mike has provided emailed answers to questions from managers and owners who have taken our class.

5.     In the past we asked our managers for a written evaluation at the end of the class, and the comments have been uniformly positive.

6.     We are extremely conscious of the efficient use of managers' and owners' time.  We take only short breaks, serve lunch in the classroom (included in the tuition), and finish the entire process, including presentation of certificates of completion, in four hours and 30 minutes.

7.     And, here’s the best part, you will enjoy the presentation style and sense of humor of the instructor!
